| Hi, I have been noticing that there are a lot of osCommerce sites on our servers that have the setting for Gzip Compression set to True in the osCommerce adimin. There is no need to turn this on on since our servers automatically compress your PHP and HTML pages by default. What happens if you have Gzip Compression set to true in your admin is that osCommerce tries to recompress a compressed page and kicks out a warning error to the server error log every time a page is loaded on your site. This adds a lot of overhead to the servers and slows your site down, not to mention jacks up our error logs! So, for future reference, if you have an osCommerce site hosted with us, keep the Gzip Compression value set to false. FYI, this setting is located in the osCommerce admin: Configuration => Gzip Compression Then select 'False'
