Default os MAX - Virtual Product problem

Not sure how many people use these forums, doesn't seem too many, but hey, will give it a go!!

I am using os Max, my problem is that if a product i put on does not have any attributes, the cart assumes it is a virtual product. This causes problems as it doesn't show the shipping options when it thinks it is virtual.

Could someone tell me how I go about resolving this problem? There will be no virtual products on my site.

Many thanks,

Patrick

Hi,

The problem is that your product weight is set to zero. It needs to be 1 or greater if you want to charge shipping. This problem does not have any relationship to having attributes or not.

cool thanks, i changed all the weights and now it works. all #this time spent and that was the reason! i didn't think of it cos i was shipping by price, not weight. didn't realise the weight was still important.

thanks for the help there!

If you are curious as to why weight is still important, it is because a weight of zero is used to specify a virtual product like a gift certificate or a download.

osCMax sees a zero weight and automatically assumes that the product in question is not something that is shipped (download or gift voucher).
