| Hello, I'm a potential new customer as I'm strongly looking at oscmax with hosting but before I commit to purchasing a package I am wondering if there is a "test drive" or something so I can play with oscmax to see if it's what I need. I currently have a successful oscommerce store but want to upgrade to something with more capabilities & mods. Please let me know if this is possible. I'm hoping to get something going within the week if possible but want to test it before I spend any money which will be a long term commitment. Thank you for your help! Jan ![]() |

| There currently is not a demo store available. It is free to download and pretty easy to install on a WAMP or LAMP server if you want to do a local install on your home computer to test it out. Of course, that may be way overkill if you are not familiar with how to set up web software. Basically, if you could use osCommerce standard for a site, it is always better to use osCMax instead (especially if you are not into hacking the code yourself). osCMax adds the vast majority of 'Most requested' mods so that you don't have to add them yourself...

| Unfortunately, I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to actually load oscmax onto hosting space (which I don't currently have) or on my computer for testing. I don't know a thing about coding. What I do know is that I have helped create a currently up and running webstore with a friend for her business which was oscommerce. I really liked how it was run and since I have a familiarity with it I was hoping to stick to a more updated version (oscmax). Basically, if I can pay someone to put it on a hosting space I think I'll be able to get done what I want done and maybe hire out small projects if needed. I just need help with the first step pretty much - getting it loaded somewhere. Before spending money for all of this, I just wanted to test it a bit just to make sure it's what I'm expecting. I currently have a successful business and product line with auctions and really need to expand to a webstore fairly quickly. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please let me know. I guess I will have to keep looking around to see how I can get this going. Thank you for the quick response. Have a great one! Jan There currently is not a demo store available. | Hello Jan- I apologize in the long delay of getting back with you. I have not checked my mail box for quite some time at AABOX. I assumed that I would get an alert via email when I got a new message. I sent a message to you at your email address that you provided. Check your email box as well as your private message box @ AABOX. I hope to hear from you soon so you can test drive OSCMAX! Thanks! Camille |

| Camille, You have to set up your account to get email notices of PM's. It is off by default... Go to your user control panel and under Options, you can set it to send email when you get a PM...

| I edited my post without refreshing, so I missed your reply. Yes, I contacted the guy that runs the demo regarding this, so hopefully he will have it sorted soon.
